POST 7: Changes to my study programme
So basically the curriculm of Industrial Design bases it self in two main study processes, one is the theoretical approach; that consist in all the subjects that set the bases of the history of design, the methodologies and elective courses that are purelly theoretical. The other main area consists in the subjects that are purelly of practice, all of the working actvity, like getting to kow tools, softwares and the methodological process in the activities. So the first tree years of design it mixes this two aproaches and you get subjects like, Proyecj of Design, that is a workshop, and also you get mathematics, fisics, and semiotic, but all of theese subjects are from the common agenda of Design, after the third year you can choose to get the degree of Industrial Design or Graphic Design, it depends on how many elective courses you took in the length of the carrer. So the last 2 years you get a los of workload because you can choose many electives, this time it's also very interesting because you can use a lot of hand tools and diferent machine, the faculty provides a variety of hand tools like power saws, a lathe, hammers, also a CNC router, a CNC laser and a 3D printer, so the faculty has two main workshops, one for the manual tools and one for the machine tools that are computarized and uses softwares. The faculty also has one room for computers that has all of the softwares that we need in the carrer, that computer room also has a plotter and printers, so if you need to print some work you can pay and you will have it printed.
So I like pretty much the teaching method and there are little thing that I would change
I am glad that your academic situation has been facilitated and that the faculty has provided you with the necessary tools to practice as an industrial designer, good things that are rescued from the faculty, greetings<3
